September 19, 2019: Sean Simpson, Vice President of Ipsos Public Affairs – “Polling in Advance of Federal Election”

With several new Party leaders, the SNC Lavalin scandal, broken budget deficit promises, varying carbon tax positions, and almost daily platform announcements, there is considerable uncertainty how the upcoming federal election will go.   Fortunately, we are pleased to welcome one of Canada's foremost polling professionals to make sense of what may  happen on October 21.

Sean Simpson is Vice President with Ipsos Public Affairs, Canada’s leading public opinion polling and market-research firm. Sean leads Ipsos’ public-opinion polling specialization, focusing on electoral behavior, social, political and consumer trends, reputation, issues management, and stakeholder research. As part of his role overseeing all of Ipsos’ publicly-released research in Canada, Sean leads Ipsos’ relationship with Global News and Corus Radio in Canada, where he is featured regularly on broadcasts – particularly around election time.

An avid supporter of the arts, Sean lives in Kitchener with his wife Amie, and is Director of Music at St. Anne’s Church on East Avenue.  Sean received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University, specializing in electoral behavior under Dr. Barry Kay.
